Dr Damian Skinner is an art historian and curator based in Gisborne. He is interested in twentieth century New Zealand art and craft, and he has worked with a number of galleries and museums around the country. His most recent books are The Carver and the Artist: Maori Art in the Twentieth Century (AUP) and Alan Prest on: Between Tides (Godwit) and Plain Song (Millennium House).
