Victoria University Press, ISBN 978-0-86473-575-1, $30.00 pbk
Simone’s obsession with her former lover is dangerously out of control, so when the approach of her fortieth birthday brings on a compulsion to wreak havoc in his new life, a house-sitting opportunity at a remote beach provides a welcome escape.
Misconduct is a moving novel about the possibility of reinvention, the sweet and sour taste of revenge, and a woman’s search for friendship and love.
After a 10 year career in radio, Bridget van der Zijpp moved to Wellington and gained an MA in Creative Writing. During her studies she began work on her debut novel Misconduct, published in April 2008. It was shortlisted for the 2009 Commonwealth Writers’ Best First Book Prize, South East Asia and the Pacific region.
While completing Misconduct she worked as a publicist/marketer in Wellington. Last December she was appointed to the Board of Arts Wellington, the Wellington Regional Arts and Cultural Development Board.
