  Joy Cowley’s books are loved by children all around the world. Many of them have featured as finalists and winners in the Aim and New Zealand Post Children’s Book Awards. Joy has been awarded the OBE for her services to children’s writing and in 2004 was presented with the A W Reed Award for Contribution to New Zealand Literature. After many years living in the Marlborough Sounds, Joy now lives in Wellington.
  Gavin Bishop is a children’s writer of international as well as local reputation. As a picture book author and artist, he has published some 30 books that have been translated into eight languages and won numerous awards. His distinctive ink and watercolour illustrations are a feature of stories that are sometimes traditional, but always original.

The first title in this series, Snake and Lizard, was named New Zealand Post Book of the Year in 2008.
