William’s kitchen table, Dee’s window seat and Ruth’s lounge sofa ‐ these were the settings where we spent much of our time last summer as we escaped into a variety of imaginative literary worlds.
With one book in hand and 104 piled up nearby, some with notes attached, the judges were looking for books with the ‘wow’ factor that could become future Kiwi classics, and were delighted to find some true gems submitted for the 2011 New Zealand Post Children’s Book Awards.
