The Kiwi Fossil Hunters Handbook review by Alexander Jackson age 7
As part of a promotion with children's TV programme What Now? Alexander (pictured) reviewed this finalist book for us. Here's what he thought...
"The Kiwi Fossil Hunters Handbook is an awesome read; not only does it tell you all about the fossils that can be found in New Zealand, but it also has cool pictures and directions to these special fossil sites.
The book also mentioned warnings about watching for the tide, site accessibility and what and not to take.
I was really surprised to read about all the different fossils that can be found through out New Zealand and how old they are.
I live in Nelson and the directions to find the fossil site were exact and once it was low tide I was able to find fossils and match some with the pictures in the book.
I am going to Kaikoura in a few months and this book is so coming with me, it has directions of a beach where you can find fossils.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone young or old who has an interest in fossils. It is awesome to actually see the fossils in real life not just on paper, there is nothing better then making your very own discovery and finding your very own bit of history.
I rate this book 5/5."
