Kobo launches social e-reading platform
Kobo has launched a social ereading platform called Reading Life which allows users to share what they are reading through social networking sites.
The international vendor announced today that Reading Life is now available to iPhone and iPod Touch users, following the release of the iPad-compatible version in December.

Director of vendor relations for Kobo Australia and New Zealand Malcolm Neil told the Weekly Book Newsletter that Kobo customers from anywhere in the world can access the program, which is available through the free Kobo eReading App and downloadable via Kobo.com.
Neil said that the value of the Reading Life program is that it allows users to ‘highlight passages' in the books they are currently reading and share this information with their friends.
Reading Life works in a similar way to other social media tools like Foursquare which allow users to unlock achievement-based badges. Readers are also able to use the platform to track their reading habits.
