You’ll find Poppies New Plymouth nestled in the heart of New Plymouth city, minutes walk from the Govett Brewster Art Gallery, Puke Ariki Museum & Library, the historic Richmond Cottage and of course our picturesque foreshore featuring the Wind Wand - a famous sculpture by New Zealand artist Len Lye.
My name is Ruth Smolenski and I’m very excited to bring a Poppies boutique bookshop to my home town. Books have always been a source of enjoyment and inspiration to all my family, some of whom you’ll see working along side me from time to time.
In today’s busy world Poppies is a concept more like the bookshops of yesteryear, where the selection of books is hand picked and you’re sure to find that special treat for yourself or someone in your life. Remember we will make every effort to source books for you. I hope you’ll enjoy the warm inviting ambiance and decor and that it feels just a little like home.
Be sure to request a book club night for you and your friends over a glass of wine and enjoy some discounted private shopping.
May is our opening month, though the store is already gorgeous, there’s still more to come, it’s so exciting!
