Last chance to vote for Nielsen BookData NZ Booksellers Choice Award 2011
Nielsen BookData would like to announce the shortlist for the 2011 Nielsen BookData New Zealand Booksellers’ Choice Award.
This award is unique in that it acknowledges the key role booksellers play in supporting New Zealand writing and publishing.
Booksellers were asked to nominate the three books they have most enjoyed reading, selling and promoting during the past twelve months. The award carries a prize of $NZ2500 for the winning author and all booksellers who nominate and/or vote enter a prize draw for a year’s free subscription to BookData Online.
This year’s nominations are a great representation of topics that are dear to New Zealanders’ hearts.

Vote for your favourite now
New Zealand booksellers are now asked to vote for their favourite book out the four shortlisted titles, and the winner will be announced at the Industry Awards Cocktail Evening to be held in Wellington on the 17th of July during the Booksellers NZ Conference.
In order to vote please email Martine Poiree with the title of your chosen book. Please note we allow one vote per bookshop and voting will close at 12 noon on Friday the 24th of June 2011.
We would like to thank all the booksellers who have taken the time to submit titles, a poster featuring the shortlisted titles will be on its way shortly to help you all promote those titles, no doubt increasing sales. We hope that our Nielsen BookScan service will be able to confirm the importance of this award and its benefit to New Zealand writing and publishing.
Vote for the Best of the Best
This year will see the announcement of the 15th winner of this coveted award, and to mark this occasion we have decided to give you an extra chance to vote by asking you to vote for the Best of the Best.
Below is the list of the past winners, so start discussing this with your staff and vote for the book which you think should be the supreme winner, the ‘Best of the Best’, by including that title alongside your vote for this year’s award.
