Gauder resigns from REDgroup Retail
Jerome Gauder, a former Board member of Booksellers New Zealand, has resigned from his position as Australian managing director of REDgroup Retail.
Gauder, who has been with the group since 1996, was responsible for the management of the Angus & Robertson (A&R) and Borders brands.
A spokesperson for the company confirmed Gauder's resignation to the Weekly Book Newsletter yesterday, saying that Gauder will 'be available to REDgroup until April to help effect a smooth transition'.
The spokesperson told the Weekly Book Newsletter that Gauder has been replaced by Gary Dunne, who officially started in the role on 3 January.
Dunne is the former chief operating officer for Clive Peeters, where he was responsible for the company's restructuring and transition from Harvey Norman. Dunne has also previously held managerial positions at Woolworths, Aldi and Coles supermarkets.
Gauder's resignation follows the departures of REDgroup chief executive Dave Fenlon and communications manager Malcolm Neil from the company in November.
REDgroup released its finalised annual results for the 09-10 financial year in December, reporting a $43 million loss (requires login to Bookseller + Publisher to view).
