More staff changes as Cain, Smith leave REDGroup
REDgroup administrators Ferrier Hodgson have confirmed that Steven Cain has stepped down from his position as chairman of the Group.
A spokesperson for Ferrier Hodgson said that Cain, who headed up the REDgroup executive leadership team following the departure of chief executive Dave Fenlon in November 2010, has decided to leave the company for personal reasons.
Ferrier Hodgson also confirmed that Allison Smith finished in her position of group brand and strategy director for REDgroup Retail at the beginning of this month. Smith had resigned prior to the appointment of the administrators in February.
With Cain's departure, Gary Dunne is now 'in effect the CEO of the business', said the spokesperson, who said the administrators replaced the board and chairman of the Group when the company entered into voluntary administration.
Dunne joined the Group in January, replacing former Australian managing director Jerome Gauder.
Adrian Jones, who was appointed as group commercial director for the business at the end of last year, is now managing director of Borders Australia and reports directly to Dunne.
