Peter Scott new Booksellers director

Blenheim Bookworld’s Peter Scott was elected to the seat on the Booksellers board left vacant by the retirement of Susi Blackmore.

Peter and Charlene Scott are the owners and operators of Blenheim Bookworld. They bought not only the business, but also the building it occupied, in separate deals three years ago. At the time the bookstore only occupied half of the premises. When the lease on this space ended in October last year they expanded and renovated the bookstore.

Scott’s background is largely academic, with resource management qualifications and a degree in Political Science – good for problem solving and extending thinking skills, he says. He was previously a trustee of Life Education Trust Canterbury and has worked in retail.
