Being good booksellers has “meant becoming involved and staying involved in both the local and the literary community,” according to Wellington Childrens Bookshop owners Ruth and John McIntyre when accepting the Storylines Betty Gilderdale Award at Turnball House, Wellington this week.

Books become Premier New Zealand Bestsellers when they achieve outstanding sales within New Zealand.

Platinum bestsellers are those that have lifetime sales of 50,000 (fiction titles), 5,000 (poetry sales), 100,000 (non-fiction sales) or 40,000 (childrens and teens sales).
