Becky Innes appointed Head of Marketing and Publicity – Penguin Random House NZ

Penguin Random House has announced the appointment of Becky Innes to the newly created role of Head of Marketing and Publicity – New Zealand.  Based out of the Auckland office and effective 22 October 2019, Innes will report directly to Julie Burland, Chief Executive Officer – Australia and New Zealand.

As Head of Marketing and Publicity, Innes will take on the responsibility for the overall marketing and publicity strategy, aligning our campaigns and delivering integrated promotional activities for Penguin Random House New Zealand.

With over 20 years’ experience in Publishing, Innes worked for Harper Collins in the UK and worked in sales and marketing departments at Random House and Penguin Random House, before joining Allen and Unwin as Marketing Manager New Zealand in 2016.  She was part of the team that recently worked on the Magnolia Kitchen campaign which won the marketing and publicity strategy of the year award at this year’s New Zealand Bookseller Awards. 

On the appointment Burland said “Becky is a talented publishing professional who has worked in the industry for many years.  I am thrilled that her wealth of experience, her creative flair, her skill at connecting with readers and her understanding of what is best for our books and authors will be applied to the Penguin brand.  I am delighted to be welcoming her back to Penguin Random House and look forward to working closely with her in her new role.”
