We are so excited to be working with Read NZ Te Pou Muramura to deliver the Children’s Book Week: Official Reading Guide. This initiative by Read NZ is all about getting our tamariki excited about reading and celebrating the incredible children’s books made by NZ writers and publishers.
The Guide will be a 16-page, A5, full colour catalogue, full to the brim with the very best kids’ books currently on the market. It will also include a page on the NZ Book Awards for Children and Young Adults 2026 finalists, a colouring page, an activity sheet, and competitions to enter. The cover will feature original artwork by Isobel Joy Te Aho-White created for Children’s Book Week.
Booksellers Reading Guides are the only nationwide printed media focusing solely on books, with at least 50% of our listings dedicated to Aotearoa NZ published titles. We also utilise our growing BookHub marketing channels to support the launch and promotion of the reading guides, as well as providing our members with web and social assets for their use.
Our goal is to get this Guide into the hands of as many kids as we can, showing them that reading is first and foremost fun, and that there is a book out there for every kid!
