Saturday 12 October 2024.
Bookshop day started in 2015 and is run by the Booksellers Association of New Zealand to encourage book lovers, like you, to celebrate your local bookshop.
Bookshop Day is nationwide celebration of all bookstores. The day aims to highlight the cultural importance of books and bookshops, and celebrate the people that bring the two together, our amazing booksellers. How are you celebrating Aotearoa NZ Bookshop Day?
Here are some of the amazing activities happening around the motu on the 12th of October:
10 Auckland bookshops have teamed up to bring you the Auckland Bookshop Tour. You’ve got 9 days to visit as many of us as you can. Visit at least two bookshops and collect a stamp on your map at each store (no minimum spend). Every additional stamp gives you another entry into our grand prize draw. 2 prizes of $300 of book tokens to be won.
Pick up your map from any of these stores from Oct 4th.
