Conference & Trade Days: Info for Publishers & Exhibitors

Bookseller Trade Days are a chance for booksellers, publishers, reps and authors to network, discuss trade, learn about upcoming books and events and strengthen relationships across the industry. This year Booksellers is hosting three trade days to provide opportunities for more booksellers and publishers around the country to get face to face and talk about books, feedback experiences from the shop floor and learn more about upcoming books.

We’re asking all publishers and exhibitors to reserve their tables by the end of April. To reserve a table, please email renee@booksellers.co.nz.


Trade Day – Auckland

0900 – 1700, Sunday 20th July, AUT

Trade tables must be booked by 1st May. Trade Day will include a keynote address during lunch from Anna Burkey, Australia Reads.

Trade Day registration includes one trestle table (180 x 76cm with a fitted black tablecloth), three chairs, wi-fi, breakfast, morning tea, packed lunch and afternoon tea for 1 person. Extra trade day tickets are available for $50 per person.

  • Auckland Trade Table: Full Associate Member of Booksellers NZ =$400, shared table (max 2) $250 each
  • Auckland Trade Table: Non-Member $500

In Auckland, we expect 40-50 bookshops across 90 bookseller delegates to attend.

8am – 11am: Business Meetings (20-minute appointments)

11am – 1pm: Expo, networking and keynote address over lunch (no business meetings during this time)

1pm – 5pm: Business meetings (20-minute appointments)

Trade Day – Christchurch

1200 – 1900, Thursday 7th August, Christchurch Arts Centre

Trade tables must be booked by 1st June. Trade Day will include author presentations and networking drinks at 1700.

Christchurch Trade Day registration includes one trestle table (180 x 76cm with a fitted black tablecloth), three chairs, wi-fi, afternoon tea and one drink ticket for 1 person. Extra Trade Day tickets are available for $30 per person.

  • Christchurch Trade Table Full Associate Member of Booksellers NZ = $200
  • Christchurch Trade Table Non-Member = $300

Trade Day – Wellington

1200 – 1900, Thursday 14th August, Te Auaha, 65 Dixon Street, Wellington Central

Trade tables must be booked by 1st June. Trade Day will include author presentations and networking drinks at 1700.

Trade Day registration includes one trestle table (180 x 76cm with a fitted black tablecloth), three chairs, wi-fi, packed lunch, afternoon tea and one drink ticket for 1 person. Extra Trade Day tickets are available for $30 per person.

In Wellington and Christchurch, we expect a minimum of 20 bookshops / 60 booksellers to attend each event.
