We were established by AD Smith in 1894 in Manchester Street and are still independently owned, now located in the boutique shopping precinct at The Tannery, Christchurch, New Zealand. We specialise in New Zealand books, both new and second-hand, including rare and out-of-print books. We stock a carefully curated collection of titles including New Zealand History, Te Ao Maori History, Society, Culture and Language, the Arts, Flora & Fauna, Sports, Farming & Gardening, Cooking, Travel, Fishing & Hunting, Health, Wellbeing and Spirituality and a great selection of Children’s Books including Te Reo.
