The Dorothy Butler Children’s Bookshop

The Dorothy Butler Children’s Bookshop is a much loved Auckland institution and one of  only two specialist children’s bookshops in the city. Dorothy Butler, a well-known NZ children’s writer and literacy expert, established the shop in her home in 1964. For the last ten years sisters Mary and Helen Wadsworth have owned and run the shop. We hope our shop is a place of delight for anyone who enters. We and our book-loving staff are very happy to help you find the right book or gift for your child. As well as a wide range of great quality books we also stock puzzles, games, and toys.
