We have lots of exciting things happening in store on NZ Bookshop Day.
- Dress as a favourite book-ish character and enter the dress-up contest! Prizes for all!
- Thanks to our partnership with Libro.fm, we have a very special Golden Ticket to hide in-store. If you’re the lucky finder, you’ll take home a prize of 12 audiobooks to enjoy — a whole year of listening sorted!
- Pick up a Love Your Bookshop postcard (available in-store now); write down the reasons why you love Books & Co (or your other favourite bookshops); and go in the draw to win Booksellers tokens worth $250!
- There will giveaways in store all day. There will be free books and treats (while supplies last!)
- Last year’s Personal Penguins were a huge hit, and there’s a new model for Bookshop Day this year. Just buy any two books from the vast Penguin range to claim yours.

On the main highway in Otaki, once you’ve pulled off the expressway, you will find Books & Co, a gorgeous independent bookshop and giftshop. We are the only indie bookshop on the Kapiti Coast and as such, we strive to stock a wide range of the best books we can find across all genres. We have a special Children’s Bookshop attached to our main shop, full of books, activities, games and puzzles. In the giftshop you can find NZ art prints, soaps and candles, soft toys, baby gifts, blankets and throws, mugs and glassware – along with our huge range of jigsaw puzzles, gardening and cooking books. We giftwrap, source specific books to order for customers, and love a good conversation about anything bookish.
