2018 Young NZ Publisher of the Year

Who should enter?
Rising publishing stars who are aged 35 or under as at 31 May 2018 and have worked in any area of the sales, distribution or publishing of books in New Zealand from 1 April 2017 to 31 May 2018.

Criteria
The judges are looking for a young person who has made a positive impact on the New Zealand book trade, and who has the potential to do even more. They will have displayed a passion for the industry and excellence in their work. 

What to submit
•    A completed entry form
•    A single PDF (5 pages max.) which addresses the above criteria. Word count: 500–1,500 words. Note: examples must be from 1 April 2017 to 31 May 2018.

Some of the things you could include are:
o    Testimonials – from authors or colleagues 
o    Evidence of contributions – e.g. photos; samples of work; screenshots of social media, etc
o    Evidence of enthusiasm and passion – especially beyond the job, like review/blog writing, event participation etc

Entry fee
This year there is no entry fee for nominations for staff of businesses that are members of Booksellers NZ and/or PANZ. Non-members may enter for a fee of $100 + gst.

The prize
The winner will be presented with a trophy and certificate at the Awards Dinner at Rydges Auckland on Saturday 25th August and will be included in a media release, website and social media managed by Booksellers NZ.

How to enter
Nominations would usually come from the individual’s manager or colleagues, but young publishers may submit themselves.
